The Baltic 16U baseball team hosted Elkton on Tuesday, June 18th, and it was Elkton that earned a 13-5 victory.
After a scoreless first inning, Baltic took the lead, 2-0, with two runs in the bottom of the second. The lead was short lived. Elkton tied the game with two runs in the top of the third. They then took the lead with a run in the fourth. Elkton built on their 3-2 lead with five runs in the fifth and another five in the sixth for a 13-2 lead. Baltic scored three more in the bottom of the sixth.
Gavin Skotvold finished with a double. Jackson Goehring, Joey Grunewaldt, and Cale Roach all had one single each. Ben Erickson had an RBI. Goehring pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed two walks with three strikeouts. Kellen Artz pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed two unearned runs with two strikeouts. Grunewaldt pitched an inning and allowed three runs, two earned, on three hits and three walks with one strikeout. Isaac Oakley pitched an inning and allowed three runs, one earned, on a hit and four walks with two strikeouts. Erickson also pitched an inning and allowed five earned runs on a hit and five walks.
