The Baltic Bulldogs hosted the Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals on Friday, February 16th. After the Cardinals built a double-digit lead, they were able to hold it in a 62-53 win.
St Mary built a five-point lead in the first quarter and led 20-15 going into the second quarter. Baltic went on a roll and tied the game 23-23 with 4:55 to play in the half. The Cardinals counted and finished the second quarter with a 30-27 lead. St Mary would then outscore the Bulldogs 18-11 in the third quarter to build a 48-38 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Cardinals kept that lead throughout the fourth quarter.
The Bulldogs shot 40% (21-53) from the field overall, 29% (5-17) on three-point attempts, and 75% (6-8) from the free-throw line. The Cardinals finished the game shooting 40% (22-55) overall, 23% (5-22) on three-point shots, and 52% (13-25) from the free-throw line.
Jack Erickson finished with 25 points, eight rebounds, and two assists. Kellen Artz added 10 points and five rebounds. Blake Hookie had six points, three rebounds, and two steals. Ben Erickson added five points and four rebounds.
