Strong Defense Leads to Win for Baltic Boys

The Baltic Bulldog boys basketball team bounced back from a tough loss to Sioux Valley with a 54-34 win over the Elkton-Lake Benton Elks on Tuesday, December 19th.  The story of the game was defense for the Bulldogs. Their defense held the Elks to single digit scoring in three of the four quarter.

After trailing 5-2 early in the first quarter, the Bulldogs went on a 16-0 run and finished the quarter with an 18-9 lead.  Baltic was able to extend the lead to 31-18 by halftime.  The third quarter secured the win for Baltic.  The defense held the Elks to just three points, a three pointer with under a minute to play in the quarter, and the Bulldogs led 44-21 going into the final quarter.

Jack Erickson had 22 points, six rebounds, and two assists.  Mark Ditter finished with nine points, three rebounds, and two assists.  Ben Erickson also had nine points and three rebounds.  Kellen Artz added seven points, seven rebounds, and three assists.  Blake Hookie had two points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
