The Sioux Valley Cossacks handed the Baltic Bulldog boys their first setback of the season on Thursday, December 14th. Sioux Valley fended off a third quarter rally for a 62-50 victory.
Batlic shot the ball well in the first quarter and held a 19-14 lead at the end of the quarter. The Cossack defense then held the Bulldogs to just four points in the second quarter helping Sioux Valley to a 34-23 halftime lead. The Bulldogs went on a 17-7 run in the third quarter and cut the lead to 41-40 with 3:25 to go in the quarter. The Cossacks ended the third quarter on a 7-0 run for a 48-40 lead. They would outscore Baltic 14-10 in the final quarter to secure the win.
Mark Ditter had 20 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steal. Jack Erickson also had 20 points with three rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Kellen Artz had five points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
