Trojans Spoil Hope Opener for Baltic Girls

The West Central Trojans spoiled the home opener for the Baltic Bulldog girls basketball team on Tuesday, December 5th.  After an early 6-0 lead by Baltic, the Trojans defense shut down the Bulldogs for a 78-20 win.

Meredith Larson knocked down two three-point shots for Baltic in the first minute for an early 6-0 lead, but the Trojans outscored the Bulldogs 20-3 the rest of the quarter for a 20-9 lead at the first break.  West Central extended the lead to 47-14 at halftime.  They led 66-17 at the end of the third quarter.

Baltic shot 19% (7-36) overall from the field, 21% (3-14) on three-point attempts, and 27% (3-11) from the free-throw line.  West Central shot 46% (31-67) overall, 45% (14-31) from three-point area, and 2-6 from the free-throw line.  The Trojan defense forced 26 turnovers, 18 of those on steals.

Larson finished with 10 points and four rebounds.  Baylee Breece had six points, three rebounds, and two steals.  Harper Kortemeyer added three points and two assists.  Laci Hilman had six rebounds.  Holland Kortemeyer had one point, four rebounds, and two assists.
