Baltic 16U was within two runs of Dell Rapids after three innings on Friday, June 30th. Dell Rapids then scored seven unanswered runs and won 10-2.
Dell Rapids got out to an early 3-0 lead. They scored a run in the top of the first and two more in the top of the third. Baltic cut the lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth when Riker Rogers scored on a wild pitch. Dell Rapids then scored five times in the top of the fifth and two more in the sixth for a 10-1 lead. J Goehring scored on wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh for Baltic’s other run.
Riley Schultz, Beau Breece, and Garrett Wilkison had the only three hits for Baltic. Schultz pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed three runs, one earned, on four hits with three strikeouts. Braxton Allen pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed six earned runs on nine hits and four walks. Jackson Goehring pitched 2/3 of an inning allowing an earned run on three hits with two strikeouts. Joey Grunewaldt pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed one hit with two strikeouts.
