Rally Falls Short for Baltic 16U

The Baltic 16U team got behind early and tried to rally, but the rally fell short against Parker on Wednesday, June 28th.  Parker took the 13-7 victory.

Parker scored three times in the bottom of the first to take a 3-0 lead.  C McGuire had an RBI ground out in the top of the second to put Baltic on the board.  Parker, however, added two more runs in the bottom of the second for a 5-1 lead.  Beau Breece scored on a wild pitch in the top of the third to cut the lead to 5-2.  Parker again answered getting a run in the third and two more in the fourth.  After four innings Parker held an 8-2 lead.

Baltic put together a rally in the top of the fifth inning.  Ryder Siemonsma had a two-run double to make the score 8-4.  Joey Grunewaldt and Isaac Oakley both drew a bases-loaded walk.  Riker Rogers scored on a wild pitch, and all the sudden Baltic cut the lead to 8-7.  Parker would score five times, though, in the bottom of the fifth to end the Baltic momentum.

Rogers had two doubles.  Braxton Allen had two hits.  Siemonsma had a double and two RBIs.  Oakley finished with a hit and an RBI.  Riley Schultz and Breece both had a single.  Grunewaldt and McGuire both had one RBI.  Breece pitched three innings and allowed eight runs, seven earned, on seven hits and six walks with three strikeouts.  Allen pitched two innings and allowed five runs, three earned, on six hits and a walk with four strikeouts.  Grunewaldt pitched one inning and allowed two hits with one strikeout.
