River Dawgs Drop Two Against Renner Monarchs

The Baltic River Dawgs lost both games of a double header against the Renner Monarchs on Sunday, June 25th.

The River Dawgs grabbed an early lead with two runs in the top of the first.  Ray Williams had a two-run home run to put Baltic ahead 2-0.  The lead was short lived as Renner scored three times in the bottom of the first.  The Monarchs added one more in the third and four more runs in the fourth for an 8-2 lead.  Matt White had a solo home run in the top of the sixth, but Renner scored six more times in the bottom of the inning.

Williams had a home run and two RBIs.  White had a home run and an RBI.  Andrew Evenson had the only other hit in the game for Baltic.  Ken Longman pitched three innings and allowed four runs on six hits and a walk with three strikeouts.  Evenson pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed 10 earned runs on 10 hits.

Renner Monarchs 10, River Dawgs 0

The Monarchs held Baltic to just two hits in a 10-0 win in the second game.  Renner scored five runs in the top of the second, four in the top of the third, and one more in the top of the fifth inning.

Jon Wilhelmsen and R Schultz each had a single in the game.  White pitched two innings and allowed five earned runs on seven hits and a walk with two strikeouts.  Andrew Van Dam pitched three innings and allowed five earned runs on six hits on five walks with one strikeout.
