The Alcester-Hudson Cubs scored 11 runs in their final two at-bats to earn an 11-1 win over the Parkston Trojans on Monday, April 29th.
The Trojans scored a run right away in the top of the first inning. The score remained 1-0 until the bottom of the third. Two runs scored on an error. Alexis Gray had a two-run single, and Jenna Manning had an RBI single for a 5-1 lead. Delta Pies had an RBI groundout in the bottom of the fourth. Jaeley Christensen added an RBI single. Hannah Ahart brought home two with a double. Manning had another RBI hit, and Ahart scored on an error making the score 11-1. The game ended on the 10-run rule when the Trojans failed to score in the top of the fifth.
Manning finished with two hits and two RBIs. Christensen had two singles and an RBI. Ahart added a double and two RBIs. Gray had a single and two RBIs. Sarah Ebert had two singles. Paxtyn Moller added a double. Elly Doering had a hit, and Pies added an RBI. Emma Moller pitched five innings and allowed an unearned run on two hits and a walk with 11 strikeouts.
