Kevin LeVan

LeVan picKevin E. LeVan, 58, of Garretson passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 at his residence of natural causes. His memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Kahler Funeral Home, Dell Rapids. Visitation will be two hours prior to the start of the service.

Kevin was born April 17, 1959 in Youngstown, OH to Nelson and Angie (Youtsos) LeVan. He grew up in the Baltic area and graduated from Baltic High School. He attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. During that time, he was united in marriage with Kristie Krempges on January 18, 1981. Together they had two daughters, Lisa and Lexi.

Kevin worked various jobs in the restaurant industry, often waiting tables and bar tending.

Kevin was an athlete and competitor who loved participating in and watching sports. He especially liked watching the Vikings with his grandson, James. He was a talented billiards player; a skill he acquired at the Baltic Corner which is owned by his family. He enjoyed dancing to country music and attending live concerts.

Kevin is survived by his mother, Angie Montague of AZ; step mother, Lee LeVan of Dell Rapids; brothers, Tim (Patti) LeVan of FL, Brian (Leslie) LeVan of AZ, Randy (Laura) LeVan of PA, Rick (Cheyenne) Mozingo of OH, Robert Thompson of AZ; his sisters, Elizabeth Rogers of Dell Rapids, Cheryl (Jim) Lakes of PA, Gail (Garry) Barto of PA, Michelle (Joe) Daughterty of PA; nephew, Riiker Rogers and niece, Castynn Rogers; daughters, Lisa LeVan (Troy Lund) and Alexis (William) Kolb; grandchildren, James McAthie, Kate and John Kolb, and numerous family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Nelson LeVan and his brothers, Sheldon LeVan and John Thompson.
