Rosemary Hauglid, 92, of Dell Rapids, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the Dells Nursing and Rehab Center. Her Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017 in St. Mary Catholic Church with Fr. John Lantsberger as the celebrant. Casketbearers are Tom Hauglid, Josh Hauglid, Wade Hauglid, Brett Hauglid, Michael Hauglid, Brady Hauglid, Dan Hauglid and Brian Cordell. Interment will be in the St. Mary Cemetery, Dell Rapids. Visitation will begin at noon on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. The family will be present at 5:00 p.m. with Christian Wake Service beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Kahler Funeral Home.
Rosemary Eulberg was born on June 3, 1925, the daughter of Matt and Elizabeth (Majeres) Eulberg. Rosemary graduated from high school with her future husband, Norman Hauglid in 1943. Three years later on September 19, 1946 they were married. Their first home was on a farm 2 miles north of Dell Rapids. In 1957 they moved to the home Rosemary’s father built 7 miles NW of Dell Rapids where they raised their 7 children. In 1984 they built a new home 7 miles south of Colman, SD and lived there until they moved to Orchard Hills Retirement Center in 2013.
She was a member of St. Mary Parish and Altar Society and a past St. Mary School Board member. She and Norman enjoyed winters in AZ for twenty-five years. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards, traveling and dune bugging in AZ with friends.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, Mel and Jerry Eulberg, her sister, Doris Mousel, her son, Steve and three infant grandchildren, Jennifer, Jesse and Jordon.
She is survived by her husband, Norman of Dell Rapids; her children, Greg (Jo) Hauglid of Dell Rapids, Alice Cordell of Atlanta, GA, Don (Mary Ann) Hauglid of Tulsa, OK, Nancy Hauglid of Sioux Falls, Larry (Tena) Hauglid of Dell Rapids, John (Beck) Hauglid of Colman and Mark (Joni) Hauglid of Colman; her 18 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Roger Eulberg of Salt Lake City, UT and her many friends and extended family.
