Sharon Schroeder

Sharon SchroederSharon Kaye Schroeder, age 70 of Dell Rapids, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015.  Sharon Kaye Schroeder was born to Abel and Matilda Klinghagen of Lennox, South Dakota on April 16, 1945. The youngest of four girls, Sharon graduated from Lennox High School in 1963. She married John Schroeder on August 29, 1964 and had two children, Scott and Darcy. John and Sharon made their home in Dell Rapids, South Dakota for the past thirty two years.

For more than four decades, Sharon’s career was in the financial industry, most recently retiring from Human Resources at US Bank in December 2013 after 26 years. Throughout her seventy years of life, Sharon’s passion and delight were her grandchildren. While working full time, Sharon found time to travel and attend her grandchildren’s many academic and athletic activities. Through wins and losses, she was always their biggest supporter.

Sharon passed away on September 20, 2015 at Sanford Acute Care Hospice after battling cancer. Left to mourn her loss are husband, John; children, Scott (Jane) Schroder of Sioux Falls, SD and Darcy (Mark) Scholl of Prior Lake, MN; five grandchildren, Taylor and Madison Scholl and Nathan, Jared, and Ryan Schroeder; sisters Harriet (Harlan) Pietz and LaVonne (Jerome) Gereats; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.  Those preceeding her in death were her parents, Abel and Matilda Klinghagen, her sister and brother in law, Leona and Donald Haan, her niece, Krystal Beuckens and nephew, Loren Haan.

The family wishes to thank all those who cared for her during her illness. Memorials may be made to the Central Baptist Church Hospitality Fund. Celebration of Life arrangements were provided by Heritage Funeral Home and Central Baptist Church.

Sharons Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Central Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Condolences may be left at
