Twila Zastrow, 76, of Wessington Springs died Sunday May 24, 2015, at her residence.
Her memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Foothills Bible Fellowship Church with Rev. Don Grubb officiating. There will be no visitation. A private committal will be held at a later date.
Twila Glee Balster was born August 1, 1938, to Ernest and Estella (Wilson) Balster in Mitchell. She attended school in Wessington Springs and graduated in 1956. She received her teacher certificate from Wessington Springs Junior College in the spring of 1958 and started teaching at Balster country school in Brule County and then in Gann Valley in 1960. She earned her Bachelor of Science in education degree from Southern State College in 1964. She started teaching in Wessington Springs in 1980.
On Oct. 1, 1964 she married Lee Zastrow in Wessington Springs and they made their home in Gann Valley until the fall of 1984 when they moved into Wessington Springs.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Lee; children, Jeff (Teri) Zastrow of Dell Rapids, and Jill (Jamie) Nuebel of Brandon; two grandchildren; friend, Delores Fuegen of Wessington Springs; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother and father in-law; sister, Shirley Lomheim; and brother, Daryl Balster.
