Rosemary “Babe” Richardson, age 84, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Chester, died Saturday, August 30, 2014.
Rosemary Nelson was born May 16, 1930, at Goodwin, SD, to Nels and Sylvia (Miller) Nelson. She grew up in the Franklin and Chester area. Babe graduated from Chester High School with the class of 1948. She was united in marriage to Kenneth “Red” Richardson on July 20, 1950, at the Chester United Methodist Church.
Babe worked on the farm until the late 1960’s when she went to work for New York Life in Madison and later KJAM radio until she retired. She was a member of the Chester United Methodist Church. Babe enjoyed gardening, baking (sharing with others) and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ken in 2011, and a sister, Ava Entringer.
Survivors include two sons, Dan (Cathy) Richardson of Dell Rapids and Dave Richardson of Ft. Pierre; one daughter, Lori Justice of Indianapolis, IN; two grandsons; six great grandchildren; three step-grandsons; one step-great granddaughter; and one sister, Betty Peterson of McAllen, TX.
