Stanley Lundquist

Stanley LUndquistStanley H. Lundquist, Sioux Falls, formerly of Estelline, was born Nov. 19, 1935, in Kingsbury County.

He received his education in Erwin and graduated from Erwin High School in 1953. Stan served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. In 1956, he continued his education at SDSU and received his degree in 1958.

He was united in marriage to Rochelle J. Anderson on April 29, 1960, in Pipestone, Minn. He was employed as a conservation officer with the Game, Fish and Parks Department from 1960 until his retirement in 1998. Stan was very instrumental in establishing the Mickelson Wetland Memorial west of Estelline. Rochelle died on Feb. 23, 2004, and Stan continued to live in Estelline until moving to Dell Rapids and later moving to Sioux Falls. He died on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Bethany Lutheran Home in Sioux Falls at the age of 78 years.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Estelline, the Sportsman Club and the American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, hunting and fishing and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by one son, Jeff Lundquist (Rebecca) and their two daughters, Amber and Sienna of Lincoln, Neb.; one daughter, Lisa Schroeder (Jim) and their son, Zachary of Dell Rapids; five brothers, Raymond (Lisa) of Mooresville, N.C., Kenneth (Barbara) of Sioux Falls, Harlow (Annette) of Garretson, Larry of Billings, Mont., and Robert (Ann) of Gettysburg; and two sisters, Joyce Jensen (Virgil) of Erwin and Gladys Horsted (Burton) of Sioux Falls.

Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Rochelle, his parents, three brothers, Neal, Harold and Roy and one sister, Esther Daily,

His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Estelline. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Geise Funeral Home in Estelline. Condolences may be left at www.geisefuneralhome.com
