David James Barg

May 5, 2014 by Matt Larson, Big Sioux Media

David BargDavid James Barg passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the age of 36.  Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Celebrate Community Church in Sioux Falls. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM Wednesday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic.  Condolences may be left at www.minnehahafuneralhome.com.

David was born to parents Fred and Peggy (Pratt) Barg October 27, 1977 in Sioux Falls. He grew up in Crooks and Garretson and graduated from Strive High in Dell Rapids. He then went on to earn an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration and later graduated with honors when he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He and Tammy Swier were married June 15, 2002. David resided in Canton with his wife Tammy and beloved pets. David is survived by his wife, Tammy, Canton; parents Fred and Peggy Barg, Garretson; a sister Jessica, Sioux Falls and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

David was an active participant in several online forums where he debated world and political issues. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, politics, world issues, NASCAR and spending time with his family and pets. Dave and Tammy both shared a love of animals and have brought in several strays over the years. His favorite pet was his dog “Wiggles”, who can often be found hiding under the bed.

Dave’s interest included buying, selling and playing with micro machines. He was an expert. Dave enjoyed spoiling his nephews with micro machines and the noisiest, most annoying toys he could find! This was his payback for getting photographed so many times for the yearly family calendar. He also loved teasing the neighbors by putting out opposing politicians signs.

Dave and his dad have enjoyed many hunting and fishing trips together. He loved the serenity of the outdoors and being away from the busyness of life.
