12 Dell Rapids Students Selected for All-State Choir

September 7, 2013 by Matt Larson, Big Sioux Media

A total of twelve Dell Rapids students will be participating in the 2013 All-State Chorus on Saturday, November 2nd, at the Sioux Falls Area.  Eight students from Dell Rapids High School were selected along with four students from Dell Rapids St Mary.  This year’s representatives from Dell Rapids High School are Jordan Stone, Mikaela Stofferahn, Ben Hinricher, Jackson Gleason, Jade Schull, Bryana Schull, Ted DeLange, and Dylan Damm.  The four students from Dell Rapids St Mary are Kiley Reecy, Angelia Jorgensen, Matt Farmer, and Alex Eulberg.

Not only will Dell Rapids have twelve singers in this years All-State Choir, three of those singers are four-time participants.  They are Jordan Stone, Jackson Gleason, and Alex Eulberg.

“This is a great honor and a feeling that you can’t describe,” said Stone.  Eulberg said that it was a “pretty big honor” to be selected all four years of high school.  Both Stone and Gleason said that it’s wonderful to share the honor with someone, and it’s great to have Dell Rapids have recognition for the four-year recipients.

Even though the selections have been made, the hard work continues for these students.  Gleason said, “There is a rehearsal day that is held in Brookings.  This allows everyone to get together to go over the songs and learn the foreign language pronunciations because there is only two days to get the concert put together with everyone.”

The students from both Dell Rapids High School and Dell Rapids St Mary will continue to practice many times a week in preparation for the performance on November 2nd.
