The De Smet Bulldogs track team competed in the Dakota Valley Conference meet on Thursday, May 16th. The girls team placed eighth with a team score of 50. The boys team finished fifth with 73 points.
Hazel Luethmers had a second-place finish in the high jump. Adalyn Gross placed third in the 400m dash. Ivey Schoenfelder was fourth in the discus. Charlie McCune finished fifth in the 300m hurdles. The 4x800m relay team had a third-place finish. The 4x200m and 4x400m relay teams finished fifth.
Samuel Gigov won the discus with a throw of 132’2″. Grant Wilkinson finished second in the shot put. Gannon Henrich finished third in the 100m dash, fourth in the 200m dash, and fifth in the 400m dash. George Jensen was third in the high jump and third in the triple jump. Trace Van Regenmorter placed fourth in the shot put. Thomas Augenbaugh placed fourth in the triple jump. Melville Deloye was fifth in the high jump. The 4x800m relay team finished third.
