The Kingsbury County Knights wrestling team finished with a 9-4 dual record last season and had two state placers, both of which return to this year’s team.
Gannon Gilligan and Connor Giedd both finished fifth at state and will help lead the Knights this season. Other returning state qualifiers are Connor Johnson, Greyson Nielson, Cody Zell, and Kaleb Johnson.
“We look to take a step forward with our program this year. Our numbers are good overall, so we look to be a solid dual squat and take pride in that. We have a group of experiences wrestlers as well as hungry young kids looking to compete at a higher level. Having several state qualifiers, along with our state medalists returning make for a competitive practice room, which will make our all of our kids better. We always look forward to the challenges ahead and are excited about what our season will bring,” said head coach Steve Gilbertson.
The Knights begin the season at the Clark Tournament on Saturday, December 2nd.
