The De Smet Bulldogs (18-3) started post season play facing the same opponent they finished the regular season against, the Oldham-Ramona/Rutland Raiders. The Bulldogs cruised to a 77-20 Region 2B opening round win over the Raiders on Tuesday, February 28th.
The Bulldogs got out to an 18-0 lead to start the game and continued to roll from there in a very balanced offensive attack. De Smet led 29-6 after the first quarter, 52-9 at halftime, and 68-14 at the end of the third quarter.
Four players finished in double figures. George Jensen had 14 points and two rebounds. Kasen Janssen had 13 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Kadyn Fast also had 13 points with four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Damon Wilkinson added 10 points, four rebounds, four assists, three steals, and two blocked shots. Trace Van Regenmorter ended with eight points. Tom Aughenbaugh, Britt Carlson, and Grant Wilkinson all had six points each.
