The St Mary’s Cardinal boys had their regular season come to an end at home on Friday, February 27th. The Cardinals hosted the Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan Huskies with the Huskies taking the 54-35 victory.
The Huskies opened the game on a 7-0 run. The Cardinals finished the quarter on a 7-4 advantage to cut the lead down to 11-7 by the end of the first quarter. Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan went on another run to start the second quarter. This time it was a 9-0 run to extend their lead to 20-7. The first half ended with Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan leading 28-16. The Huskies added to their lead in the third quarter and led 40-25 going into the fourth quarter. The Cardinals got within 11 points, 44-33, with 4:45 to play, but the Huskies ended the game on a 10-2 run.
St Mary’s finished the game shooting 28% (13-47) from the field overall, 26% (6-23) from three-point area, and 3-6 from the free-throw line. Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan shot 48% (20-42) overall, 2-10 on three-point shots, and 60% (12-20) from the free-throw line.
Trimmier Hanson ended with 19 points and three rebounds. Isaac Griffin had four points, four rebounds, and two assists. Peyton Lamb ended with four points and three rebounds. Lincoln LeBrun also had four points and three rebounds.
