Cardinal Boys Come from Behind for Win over Chester

The St Mary Cardinal boys erased a five-point deficit in the second half for a 54-46 win over the Chester Flyers at home on Friday, January 30th.

Chester held a 10-7 lead with 1:15 to go in the first quarter.  St Mary went on a 4-1 run to tie the game 11-11.  Both teams struggled a little offensively in the second quarter, and the half ended with a 17-17 tie.  The Flyers started the third quarter on a 10-5 run for a 27-22 lead with 3:45 to go.  St Mary finished the quarter on an 8-0 run and took a 30-27 lead into the fourth quarter.  The Cardinals outscored Chester 24-19 in the final quarter for the win.

St Mary finished the game shooting 49% (22-45) from the field overall, 23% (3-13) from three-point area, and 7-10 from the free-throw line.  Chester shot 38% (18-48) from the field, 25% (6-24) on three-point shots, and 4-5 from the free-throw line.

Peyton Lamb had 20 points and five rebounds to lead the Cardinals.  Trimmier Hanson had 12 points, four rebounds, and four assists.  Logan Bauer had eight points and six rebounds.  Joseph Trumbauer ended with seven points and four rebounds.
