Dolphins Make Run in Second Half in Win over Cardinal Boys

The St Mary Cardinal boys were held to just nine points in the last thirteen minutes of the game as the Deubrook Dolphins earned a 49-38 win over the Cardinals on Tuesday, January 27th.

The Dolphins held a four-point lead, 14-10, by the end of the first quarter.  The Cardinals cut the lead in half, 21-19, at halftime.  St Mary went on a quick 10-3 run to start the second half.  They led 29-24 with 5:00 to go in the third quarter.  St Mary was then held to just three points the rest of the quarter as the Dolphins were back in front 35-32 going into the fourth quarter.  The Cardinals scored just six points in the fourth quarter as Deubrook pulled away in the win.

The outside shots were hard to come by for St Mary all game long.  St Mary shot 41% (15-37) overall in the game, but just 22% (4-18) from three-point area.  They were also 4-8 from the free-throw line.  Deubrook shot 41% (21-51) overall, went just 1-11 on three-point attempts, and 43% (6-14) from the free-throw line.

Trimmier Hanson had 15 points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Joseph Trumbauer had eight points and four rebounds.  Logan Bauer added seven points and five rebounds.  Peyton Lamb had four points and three rebounds.  Isaac Griffin ended with three points and six rebounds.
