The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals set a school record in wins with 16 last season, but this year’s team is looking to break that record.
“We are very excited about the upcoming volleyball season and are looking to build upon and advance our success from last season,” said head coach Sandra Heinitz. “This team has great chemistry and really works hard with exceptional attitude and effort. We hope to continue to improve throughout the season and to be very competitive into the post season this year!”
The Cardinals return four senior with a lot of experience to help lead the 2022 team along with quite a few experience underclassman. St Mary’s returning payers are Ella Griffin, Maya Heinitz, Jose Baumberger, Whitney Warwick, Brianna Lindeman, Madala Hanson, Brianna Griffin and Jaycee Tebay. Megan Geraets and Livia Abel are newcomers to watch in 2022.
St Mary travels to Aclester-Hudson to open the season on Thursday, August 25th.
