St Mary Boys Add Two More Wins

The St Mary Cardinal boys added two more wins to their total to improve to 17-1 on the season.  The Cardinals defeated the Freeman Flyers on Saturday, February 15th and then earned a road win at Centerville on Tuesday, February 18th.

After a slow start in the opening quarter, the Cardinals earned a 68-56 win over the Flyers at the DWU Classic in Mitchell on Saturday.  Trevon Beckman, named the game’s MVP, had 27 points, six assists, four rebounds, and three steals.  Maverick LeBrun added 21 points, 14 rebounds, and three steals.  Trimmier Hanson and Jake Kopsas each had nine points in the game.

The Cardinals did not slow down against the Tornadoes in Centerville on Tuesday.  St Mary opened the game on a 12-0 run and rolled from there.  They led 24-11 at the end of the first quarter and 41-23 at halftime.  The Cardinals hit the 30-point lead mark, 60-30, with 1:20 to play in the third quarter trigging the running clock the rest of the game. The Cardinals would win the game 66-47.

Beckman finished with 27 points, four steals, and three assists.  LeBrun had 25 points, nine rebounds, and four steals.  Kopsas ended with six points and four rebounds.
