The St Mary Cardinal boys added another game to the win column after an 85-54 win over the Iroquois/Lake Preston Sharks on Thursday, February 6th.
The Sharks led 7-4 with 5:40 to go in the first quarter. St Mary finished the quarter on a 16-5 run for a 23-9 lead. The Cardinals would continue to roll from there. They extended the lead to 41-22 at halftime. The Sharks kept pace with the Cardinals in the third quarter, but St Mary still led 60-42 going into the fourth quarter. The Cardinals outscored the Sharks 25-12 in the final quarter.
St Mary shot 51% (30-59) in the game overall, 38% (8-21) on three-point shots, and 74% (17-23) from the free-throw line. Iroquois/Lake Preston shot 37% (23-62) overall, 15% (5-33) on three-point shots, and 3-4 from the free-throw line.
Trevon Beckman finished with 46 points and nine rebounds. Maverick LeBrun added 21 points and 15 rebounds. Jake Kopsas ended with nine points and nine rebounds. Trimmier Hanson had six points and four assists.
