The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals traveled to Centerville on Tuesday, October 10th. The Tornadoes won the match in straight sets by scores o 25-7, 25-21, and 25-23.
Centerville jumped out to a quick 8-1 lead in the opening set and cruised from there. They had leads of 15-2 and 20-3 before winning 25-7. The Cardinals rebounded and took a 7-3 lead to start the second set. Centerville eventually tied the score 11-11. The set was tied at scores of 15-15, 17-17, and 19-19. The Tornadoes finished the set on a 6-2 advantage for a 25-21 win.
St Mary started the third set on a 7-1 advantage and held the lead for most of the set. They continued to lead 11-6 and 16-11. The Tornadoes cut the lead to 19-18, but St Mary seemed to be in position to force a fourth set with a 23-21 lead. Centerville scored four straight points to get the 25-23 win.
Brianna Griffin had nine kills, three digs, and a block. Brianna Lindeman finished with 23 set asssists, three digs, a kill, an ace, and a block. Stephenie Geraets added five kills, two digs, and a block. Livia Abel had six digs, three kills, and two ace serves. Jenna Miller finished with 18 digs and a set assist. Jodie Klein had eight digs. Megan Geraets added two kills and a dig, and Jaycee Tebay finished with a kill and two digs.
