Dell Rapids St Mary hosted Arlington in a battle of the Cardinals in volleyball action on Thursday, September 21st. Arlington won in straight sets by scores of 25-21, 25-16, and 25-14.
St Mary started the first set with a 7-3 lead. Arlington evened the score 9-9. St Mary went back in front 13-9 after a 4-0 run. Arlington would tie the score again 16-16 and then went ahead 18-16. After a 20-20 tie, Arlington finished the first set on a 5-1 run for a 25-21 win.
Arlington started the second set on a big 10-2 run. St Mary cut the lead down to five points, 14-9, but Arlington went on a 5-1 run to extend the lead to 19-10. Arlington won the second set 25-16. The third set started with a 4-4 tie. Arlington went ahead 8-5 and then went on a 12-3 run for a 20-8 lead. They would take the final set 25-14.
Brianna Lindeman finished with 18 set assists, three kills, nine digs, one block, and two ace serves. Brianna Griffin added four kills, six digs, a block, and two ace serves. Livia Abel had four kills and a dig. Jaycee Tebay had 16 digs, three kills, and an ace. Jodie Klein had 16 digs and two kills. Jenna Miller finished with seven digs and an ace serve.
