St Mary Boys Even Record with Big Win over Arlington

The St Mary Cardinal boys evened their season record at 8-8 with a big 78-34 home win over the Arlington Cardinals on Monday, February 9th.

Trimmier Hanson had the hot hand for St Mary by knocking down six three-point shots and finishing with 27 points overall with five rebounds.  Paxton Beckman had 11 points.  Peyton Lamb, Isaac Griffin, and Joseph Trumbauer all had seven points each.  Lincoln LeBrun added six points with eight rebounds.  Joshua Liebl also had six points.  Eleven different players for St Mary scored in the game, and thirteen players had at least one rebound.

St Mary was hot from the start putting up 23 points in the first quarter.  They led 23-8 at the first quarter break.  Each team scored 15 points in the second quarter, and St Mary led 38-23 at halftime.  St Mary would pull away big in the third quarter, outscoring Arlington 23-6 for a 61-29 advantage going into the fourth quarter.  They would had another 17 points in the fourth quarter.

St Mary shot 51% (27-53) from the field overall, 50% (11-22) from three-point area, and 76% (13-17) from the free-throw line.  Arlington finished the night shooting just 22% (15-67) overall, 8% (2-25) on three-point attempts, and 33% (2-6) from the free-throw line.
