Cardinal Boys Go Cold in Third Quarter, Fall to Sharks

The St Mary Cardinal boys went cold in the third quarter, scoring just two points, in a 61-47 road loss to the Iroquois/Lake Preston Sharks on Thursday, February 5th.

The first two quarters were close between the two teams.  The Cardinals held a one-point advantage, 14-13, at the end of the first quarter.  They would also have the lead at halftime, 29-26.  Unfortunately St Mary hit a cold streak coming out of halftime.  The Sharks outscored the Cardinals 17-2 for a 43-31 lead going into the fourth quarter.  The Cardinals couldn’t overcome the deficit in the fourth quarter.

St Mary was 32% (18-56) shooting overall in the game, 20% (6-30) on three-point attempts, and 5-8 from the free-throw line.  Iroqouis/Lake Preston shot 47% (23-49) overall, 27% (6-22) on three-point shots, and 60% (9-15) from the free-throw line.

Trimmier Hanson had 19 points, six rebounds, and three assists.  Isaac Griffin added seven points and four rebounds.  Jacob Flemmer had six points.  Lincoln LeBrun had five points.  Logan Bauer ended with four points and eight rebounds.
