Two Cardinal Boys Runners Qualify for State Cross Country Meet

The St Mary Cardinal boys cross country team took fourth place in the Region 2B Cross Country Meet in Irene on Wednesday, October 15th.  The Cardinals had 37 points.  Irene-Wakonda was first with 24 points.  Sioux Falls Lutheran had 33 points, and Flandreau Indian placed third with 34 points.

Two runners for the Cardinals qualified for the state meet by finishing in the top 20 individually.  Matthew Heinemann finished 11th with a time of 19:20.09.  Cooper Libis placed 13th in a time of 19:31.10.  Logan Robinson (25th) had a time of 20:26.21.  Bronc Geraets (42nd) finished in 23:04.61, and Kade Lutt (45th) had a time of 23:22.54.

Heinemann and Libis will compete in the 2025 South Dakota State B Boys Cross Country Meet in Huron at Broadland Creek Golf Course on Saturday, October 25th.
