The St Mary Cardinal track teams traveled a few blocks up the road to Dell Rapids High School for the Dell Rapids Invite on Monday, May 12th. The girls team had a fourth-place finish with 84 points. The boys team finished seventh with 55 points.
Lucy Vargas won the 3200m run with a time of 14:45.04. Maddyn LeBrun won the discus with a throw of 120’9″ and also won the javelin with a throw of 117’4″. Madala Hanson took second in the 100m dash in :12.93 and second in the 400m dash in 1:01.67. Kate Liebl was second in the high jump at 4’9″. Ryleigh Ahlers and Megan Geraets tied for third in the high jump at 4’6″.
The sprint medley relay team of Thomas LaVoy, Jaxon Baumberger, Logan Bauer, and Matt Heinemann won with a time of 3:53.55. Baumberger was third in the high jump at 6’2″ and third in the triple jump with a jump of 37’9.5″. Josh Liebl placed third in the long jump at 18’9.5″.
