Cardinal Track Full of Excitement in 2025

“I think there will be a lot of excitement surrounding both the girls and boys teams this season,” said head coach Ross Flemmer.

The girls team will have strong senior leadership returning, and those seniors have been competing for quite a few years and have had a lot of success.  Flemmer said that some of the younger girls coming in should help fill in spots and really make this season exciting.  Madala Hanson, Addi Libis, Brianna Griffin, and Megan Geraets will help score a lot of points.  Hanson returns after placing in the 200m dash at state last season.  Maddyn LeBrun also returns as the state runner-up in javelin.

The boys team is coming off their best finish in season history a year ago, sixth place at the state track meet.  There will only be two upperclassmen, Jake Kopsas and Lincoln LeBrun. They will likely lead the team in jumps, sprints, and some throws.  Flemmer says there is a large group of sophomore boys whoo will help cover almost all of the events for the Cardinals.  Members of the 4x100m relay team that placed fourth at state and broke several records are back this year.  Those athletes are LeBrun, Jake Heinitz, Thomas LaVoy, and Logan Bauer.  Jaxon Baumberger also returns after a seventh-place finish in high jump at the state meet.
