The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinal football team will be young in 2024, featuring only six upperclassmen, but they will be looking to improve on the 5-4 season from a year ago.
Seniors Keaton Hansen, Maverick LeBrun, and Jake Kopsas along with juniors Lincoln LeBrun, Trimmier Hanson, and Carlo Pica will lead this year’s Cardinal team.
“We have a large group of sophomores, so we will need the upperclassmen to lead and pick up a lot of slack early while the younger kids get a feel for the game and get their feet under them. I think if we can stay healthy and improve each week we can have a very successful season,” said head coach Ross Flemmer.
The Cardinals start the 2024 season on Friday, August 23rd against Oldham-Ramona-Rutland. The game will be played at Dell Rapids Public High School.
