The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals golf team hosted the Region 2B Tournament at Rocky Run Golf Course on Monday, May 20th. The girls team finished third with a team score of 293. The boys team finished fourth with a score of 258.
Three members of the girls team qualified for state. Carley Roiger finished fourth with a 94. Allie Hansen was ninth with a 99. Brianna Weiland placed 11th with a round of 100. Rachel Heinemann just missed qualifying for state placing 17th with a round of 106.
Two golfers from the boys team will also be going to state. Trevon Beckman finished fourth with a round of 79. Owen Vargas placed eighth with an 80. Trimmier Hanson (34th) had a 99, and Levi Gaul (48th) had a round of 127.
The girls State B Tournament will be held at Edgebrook Golf Course in Brookings. The boys State B Tournament will be at the Brookings Country Club. Both tournaments will be held on June 3rd and 4th.
