Another Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinal track record was broken on Monday, May 13th in Armour. The boys 4x200m relay team of Jake Heinitz, Jaxon Baumberger, Logan Bauer, and Lucus Flemmer broke the 49-yeard-old record with a time of 1:35.07, beating the previous record by almost two full seconds (1:37.04).
Both teams had a good meet. The girls team finished second with 120 points. The boys team finished third with 72 points.
Paige Deuter won the 1600m run with a time of 6:31.49. Elizabeth Vogel won the 3200m run with a time of 13:19.83. Jaycee Tebay won the discus with a throw of 116’3″. Madala Hanson was second in the 100m dash and third in the 200m dash. Cami Wolles placed second in the 800m run. Lucy Vargas was second in the 3200m run. Jenna Miller took third in the 400m dash. Lauryn LeBrun placed third in the 800m run. Maddyn LeBrun placed third in the discus. Brianna Griffin was fourth in the 100m dash and fifth in the 200m dash. Addison Libis finished fourth in the 300m hurdles. Megan Geraets was fourth in the high jump, and Reagan Griffin took fifth in the triple jump. The 4x800m relay team of Wolles, Miller, Vargas, and Vogel won with a time of 11:04.14. The 4x200m relay team placed second, and the 4x400m relay team finished third.
Baumberger finished second in the high jump and fifth in the 200m dash. Heinitz placed third in the 400m dash and fourth in the 100m dash. Camden Tebay placed third in the 3200m run. Thomas LaVoy was fourth in the 200m dash, fourth in the 400m dash, and tied for fifth in the 100m dash. Matt Heinemann was fourth in the 1600m run. Jake Kopsas was fourth in the high jump. Kade Lutt was fifth in the 800m run. Bauer tied for fifth in the 100m dash. The 4x800m relay team finished second. The 4x200m relay team finished third with their school record breaking time. The 4x400m relay team placed fourth.
