The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals got a big road win on Friday, February 16th. The Cardinals defeated the Baltic Bulldogs by a score of 62-53 after building a double-digit lead in the third quarter.
St Mary built a five-point lead in the first quarter and led 20-15 going into the second quarter. Baltic went on a roll and tied the game 23-23 with 4:55 to play in the half. The Cardinals counted and finished the second quarter with a 30-27 lead. St Mary would then outscore the Bulldogs 18-11 in the third quarter to build a 48-38 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Cardinals kept that lead throughout the fourth quarter.
The Cardinals finished the game shooting 40% (22-55) overall, 23% (5-22) on three-point shots, and 52% (13-25) from the free-throw line. The Bulldogs shot 40% (21-53) from the field overall, 29% (5-17) on three-point attempts, and 75% (6-8) from the free-throw line.
Trevon Beckman had 24 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Trimmier Hanson finished with 13 points, eight rebounds, and two steals. Nic Gaspar added 11 points and six rebounds. Maverick LeBrun had nine points, eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Lucas Flemmber ended with five points and two rebounds.
