The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals (13-2) shut down Arlington defensively and won their eighth straight game on Monday, February 6th. St Mary defeated Arlington 76-32.
St Mary had a 17-12 lead after the first quarter. Then they really took off both offensively and defensively. St Mary outscored Arlington 28-9 for a 45-21 halftime lead. They then outscored Arlington 19-4 in the third quarter for a 64-25 lead going into the fourth quarter.
St Mary shot 47% (28-60) from the field, 42% (10-24) on three-point shots, and 63% (10-16) from the free-throw line. Arlington finished shooting 34% (13-38) overall, 27% (3-11) for three-point shots, and 43% (3-7) from the free-throw line.
Nic Gaspar had 23 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Maverick LeBrun had 17 points and five rebounds. CJ Smith had eight points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Trevon Beckman also had eight points with four rebounds.
