The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals (12-2) extended the winning streak to seven games after an 81-56 victory over the Mitchell Christian Golden Eagles at home on Saturday, February 4th.
The Golden Eagles struck first and held a 14-9 lead with 3:05 to play in the first quarter. That was the last of their lead. St Mary ended the first quarter on a 7-0 run for a 16-14 advantage. The momentum carried over into the second quarter, and the Cardinals led 36-19 at halftime. St Mary then scored 30 points in the third quarter and led 66-41 heading into the fourth quarter.
Nic Gaspar finished with 41 points and 10 rebounds. Trevon Beckman added 18 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Maverick LeBrun had 10 points, six rebounds, and five assists. CJ Smith ended with nine points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Trimmier Hanson had three points and six assists.
