Early Lead Sparks Win for Black Sox

The Beresford/Alcester-Hudson Black Sox scored in the first three innings to lead them to an 11-2 win over Parker on Wednesday, April 10th.

Ethan Bovill stole a base and scored on a passed ball in the top of the first inning.  Bovill then had a two-run single and scored on an error.  Robert Watkins added an RBI single in the top of the second to extend the lead to 5-0.  Parker got both of their runs in the bottom of the second making the score 5-2.

Ashton Oberle scored on a passed ball, Cooper Nelson drove home two with a single, and Gavyn Olson scored on a passed ball for a 9-2 lead.  Jace Adams had a steal of home in the top of the sixth inning, and Jax Fickbohm scored on a wild pitch in the seventh for an 11-2 advantage.

Bovill had three hits and two RBIs.  Watkins added two hits and an RBI.  Nelson finished with a single and two RBIs.  Oberle had two hits, and Fickbohm had a double.  Nelson pitched four innings and allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts.  Kason Voss pitched three innings and allowed just one hit with three strikeouts.
