Beresford Falls in Homecoming Football Game

The Beresford Watchdogs fell in their homecoming football game against the Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan Seahawks on Friday, September 13th by a score of 22-13.

The Seahawk defense put the first two points on the board with a safety early in the second quarter.  The offense followed that momentum with a touchdown on their next offensive possession.  Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan scored on a 41-yard touchdown run.  Beresford got on the board before halftime.  Malachi James had a 30-yard touchdown run to make the score 9-6 going into halftime.

Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan extended the lead, 16-6, with a 21-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.  The score remained 16-6 going into the fourth quarter.  The Watchdogs cut the lead to 16-13 after a one-yard quarterback sneak by Ashton Oberle.  The Seahawks scored the final touchdown on a nine-yard run later in the fourth quarter.

Beresford finished with 246 yards of offense, 73 rushing yards and 173 passing yards.  The Seahawks had a total of 344 yards of offense, 156 rushing yards and 188 passing yards.  James had six carries for 47 yards and a touchdown.  Oberle finished with 17 carries for 36 yards and a touchdown.  Oberle was also 17-34 passing for 173 yards and three interceptions.  James had nine receptions with 93 yards.  Ian Henderson finished with four catches for 28 yards.  Jace Adams had 6.5 tackles.  Kohen Schurch added 4.5 tackles.  Isaac Boden had four tackles, and Henderson had three tackles.
