Nine Straight Runs Leads Watchdog Softball to Victory

The Watchdogs scored nine straight runs early in the game to help lead them to a 16-4 win over the Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy Phoenix on Monday, May 6th.

Beresford started the game with three runs in the top of the first inning.  The Phoenix tied the game with three runs of their own in the bottom of the first.  The Watchdogs then scored three runs in the second and six in the third for a 12-3 advantage.  The Phoenix got one run in the bottom of the third only to see Beresford score two runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth.

Keely Merrigan had three hits, including a double, and five RBIs.  Reese Olson and Aanna Latendresse both had two hits and an RBI each.  Harley Koth and Lily Seivert had a single and an RBI.  Ivy Keiser had four hits.  Halle Livingston finished with two singles, and Kate Degen added a hit.  Brynlee Mohning pitched four innings and allowed four earned runs on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts.  Rylie Laurvick pitched the last inning and allowed one hit and had one strikeout.
