Late Inning Runs Lift Black Sox to Win

The Beresford/Alcester-Hudson Black Sox scored eight runs in the final three innings to earn an 11-3 win over Wagner at home on Wednesday, April 17th.

Cooper Nelson had an RBI groundout, and Robert Watkins scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the first for an early 2-0 lead.  Jace Adams had an RBI double in the bottom of the third to give the Black Sox a 3-0 advantage.  Wagner tied the game with a three-run top of the fourth inning.

The Black Sox then took advantage of an error with two outs in the bottom of the fourth which led to five runs.  Dominic Van Egdom scored on that error.  Adams drove home two with a single, Joseph Anderson later scored on a wild pitch, and Adams scored on a steal of home for an 8-3 lead.  Van Egdom scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the fifth.  Jax Fickbohm had an RBI single, and then he later scored on an error in the bottom of the sixth to push the lead to 11-3.

Adams had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs.  Fickbohm had two hits and an RBI.  Nelson finished with a single and an RBI.  Ethan Bovill, Van Egdom, and Jax Wurth all had one hit each.  Kasen Voss pitched six innings and allowed three runs, one earned, on five this with five strikeouts.  Bovill pitched one inning allowing one hit and striking out one batter.
