The Beresford/Alcester-Hudson 16U Black Sox hosted the 2023 South Dakota VFW 16U State A Tournament Friday, August 4th through Sunday, August 6th. The Black Sox played two games during the tournament, losing both of those games.
In their opening round game on Friday, the #6 seeded Black Sox played #3 Vermillion. Vermillion took the win 10-2 to advance to the semifinals. Beresford/Alcester-Hudson then played #2 seed Madison Maroon in an elimination game on Saturday. Madison squeaked by the Black Sox with a 9-8 win ending the Black Sox season.
Beresford/Alcester-Hudson finished their season with a 2-12 record overall.
