BAH 16U Fall to Elk Point-Jefferson

The Beresford/Alcester-Hudson 16U Black Sox fell to Elk Point-Jefferson on Wednesday, July 5th.  After an early lead by the Black Sox, Elk Point-Jefferson scored seven runs in the first two innings on their way to a 13-6 win.

Ashton Oberle scored on an error in the top of the first to give the Black Sox an early 1-0 lead.  Elk Point-Jefferson then scored four times in the bottom of the first and then three more in the bottom of the second for a 7-1 lead.  Beresford/Alcester-Hudson worked themselves back into the game.  Ethan Bovill had an RBI single in the top of the third.  Evan Brown scored on an error in the top of the third.  Oberle and Tommy Walth added an RBI singles to make the score 7-5.

Elk Point-Jefferson added two runs in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 9-5.  The Black Sox got one more run in the top of the fifth, but Elk Point-Jefferson put the game out of reach with five runs in the bottom of the fifth and one more in the sixth.

Oberle had three hits and an RBI.  Bovill finished with two hits and an RBI.  Walth added a single and an RBI.  Jax Fickbohm, Jacob Cole, Brown, and Jace Adams all had a single in the game.  Walth pitched three innings and allowed four runs, one earned, on a hit and four walks with six strikeouts.  Bovill pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed a hit and a walk with four strikeouts.  Brown pitched an inning giving up four runs, three earned, on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts.  Espyn Klungseth pitched 1/3 of an inning and allowed four earned runs on five hits.
