Huskies Get Win over Beresford Softball

The Beresford Watchdog softball team had yet another road game on Friday, April 15th.  The Watchdogs traveled to Elk Point to play the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies.  The Huskies got a 16-1 victory over the Watchdogs.

Beresford did have an early lead after scoring a run in the top of the second. Harley Koth drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home Kaylee Ivarsen for an early 1-0 lead.   The Huskies, however, scored 16 straight runs.  They got eight runs in the bottom of the second, five more in the bottom of the third, and then three in the bottom of the fourth.

The Watchdogs had a total of four hits in the game.  Koth had a hit and an RBI.  Ivy Keiser, Brenna Dann, and Lily Seivert had the other three singles.  Dann pitched 1 1/3 innings allowing eight runs, two earned, on seven hits with two strikeouts.  Keely Merrigan pitched two innings and allowed eight earned runs on five hits and eight walks with two strikeouts.
