Beresford Softball Team Wins Their First Game of Season in Extra Innings

The Beresford Watchdogs (1-3) earned their first win of the season in Wagner on Monday, April 10th in extra innings.  Beresford scored two runs in the top of the eighth inning to win 5-3.

Brenna Dann got Beresford on the board first with an RBI double in the top of the first inning.  Wagner tied the game with a run of their own in the bottom of the first.  The Watchdogs regained the lead in the top of the third.  Keely Merrigan had an RBI triple followed by an RBI double by Dann.  Wagner added a run in the bottom of the fifth to make the score 3-2.  They would tie the game in the bottom of the seventh on an error with two outs to force extra innings.

Harley Koth delivered the big hit in the top of the eighth inning.  Koth had a two-run double after a walk by Merrigan and a single by Lily Seivert.  Dann shut down Wagner in order in the bottom of the eighth for the win.

Dann had two doubles and two RBIs.  Ivy Keiser finished with two hits.  Koth had a double and two RBIs.  Merrigan finished with a triple and an RBI.  Tavyn Valder had a double.  Seivert and Kaylee Ivarsen both had a single.  Dann pitched all eight innings allowing three runs, one earned, on four hits and five walks with 18 strikeouts.
