Baltic Boys’ Strong Second Half Leads to Win over Cardinals

The Baltic Bulldog boys had a strong second half to help them to a 63-38 win over the St Mary’s Cardinals at home on Friday, February 20th.

The Bulldogs held just a two-point lead, 11-9, by the end of the first quarter.  They were able to add to the lead in the second quarter but led by just five points, 27-22, at halftime.  The second half is where Baltic pulled away.  The Bulldogs outscored St Mary’s 18-8 in third quarter to lead 45-30 going into the fourth quarter.  They outscored the Cardinals 18-8 again in the fourth quarter.

Baltic shot 51% (25-49) overall in the game, 37% (9-24) on three-point attempts, and 4-8 from the free-throw line.  St Mary’s finished the game shooting 30% (15-50) overall, 27% (6-22) on three-point shots, and 2-3 from the free-throw line.

Dylan Runestad had 21 points and three rebounds.  Kellen Artz ended with 11 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.  Brody Aday added eight points and three rebounds.  Trevor Cuperus had seven points and nine rebounds.  Ben Erickson tallied seven points, four rebounds, and four assists.  Cooper Garry also had seven points with two assists.
