Rims Unkind to Baltic Girls in Elkton

The Baltic Bulldog girls were met with unkind rims in Elkton on Tuesday, February 10th.  The Elkton-Lake Benton Elks took advantage of shots not falling for the Bulldogs in a 54-38 win.

The Bulldogs held a 10-7 lead with 1:30 to play in the opening quarter.  The Elks ended the quarter on a 5-0 run for a 12-10 advantage.  That momentum carried into the start of the second quarter.  The Elks went on an 8-0 run to make the score 20-10 with 4:00 to play in the half.  They would lead 25-17 at halftime.  Elkton-Lake Benton would outscore the Bulldogs 13-5 in the third quarter to extend their lead to 38-22 before pulling away more in the fourth quarter.

Baltic shot just 23% (14-60) from the field overall, 12% (3-26) on three-point attempts, and 7-11 from the free-throw line.  Elkton-Lake Benton finished the game shooting 40% (21-52) from the field, 26% (5-19) on three-point shots, and 7-14 from the free-throw line.

Sadey Holt had 15 points and five rebounds.  Harper Kortemeyer had 14 points and four steals.  Anna Hoekman had four points.  Kate Bouman ended with three points and four rebounds.  Kaiya Lendters had two points, six rebounds, and four steals.
