Garretson Pulls Away from Baltic Girls in Fourth Quarter

The Garretson Blue Dragons were able to pull away from the Baltic Bulldogs in the fourth quarter to get a 45-35 win on Tuesday, February 3rd.

The Bulldogs held an early 3-2 lead with 5:00 to play in the third quarter.  Garretson went on a 7-0 run over the next two and a half minutes to go in front 9-3.  The first quarter ended with Garretson leading 13-9.  Baltic would put together a great second quarter and go in front 22-20 by halftime.

The Bulldogs started the second half with a 5-0 run to go ahead 27-20 with 5:50 to play in the third quarter.  Baltic continued to lead 32-30 with 2:00 to go in the quarter, but Garretson scored the final four points for a 34-32 lead going into the fourth.  That little rally continued into the fourth quarter for the Blue Dragons.  They extended the lead to 41-32 before taking the win 45-35.

Baltic shot 28% (12-43) overall in the game, 32% (6-19) on three-point shots, and 29% (5-17) from the free-throw line.  Garretson finished the game shooting 35% (19-54) overall, 25% (4-16) from three-point area, and 3-7 from the free-throw line.

Harper Kortemeyer ended with nine points, nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Kate Bouman had six points, six rebounds, and three assists.  Braylee Parmely added six points and two rebounds.  Meredith Larson also had six points.  Sadey Holt had three points and four rebounds.
